Adrenal Fatigue

The List of Good Doctors

Posted by Miss Lizzy
June 15, 2012

Happy Friday! I am happy to say the early Spring Blues are gone. For those of you who were suffering, I hope you are feeling better too!

Anyway, for today… The first, most important, step in getting good treatment is finding a good doctor. If you would like the Good Doctor list (USA) please join my Facebook group. In the notes area, there is a small but growing list of Good Doctors compiled by the community, as well as the Iodine Literate Practioner Directory.

If you have a good doctor to add, or had a bad experience with someone on the list please let me know. It helps everyone.

xoxo!

Lizzy

What is the benefit of using iodine?

According to healthyonline.com, the thyroid (located at the frontal base of the neck) is the key gland that furnishes energy to every cell in the body. Its function is dependent on a balance of nutrients and trace minerals. These include zinc, copper, manganese and especially iodine.

Iodine is an essential nutrient needed for the production of the body's thyroid hormones and is therefore required for normal thyroid function. Thyroid hormones are responsible for our basal metabolic rate (BMR), which reflects the body's use of energy. In addition, they are beneficial for:

    • Normal growth and development
    • Protein synthesis
    • Cholesterol synthesis
    • Carbohydrate absorption
    • Energy metabolism
    • Nerve and bone formation
    • Reproduction
    • The condition of the skin, hair, nails and teeth
    • Speech and mental state
    • Cold hands and feet
